The King Abdulaziz project for transportation in Riyadh has proven to be one of the most exciting projects in the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s capital. Until now, public transportation in Riyadh had been underdeveloped and not a popular means of getting around the city.
“The metro project has been the dream project of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (the late; note by the editor) King Abdullah.” Prince Khaled, 2013
King Abdullah.” Prince Khaled
The task included the creation of a sound logo for the new brand identity and was part of the development of an umbrella brand concept including logos, fonts, communication materials and a brand manual for the official Ministry of Transportation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
As one of the largest transportation infrastructure projects in the world, this automated, driverless network will be over 170 km long and include 87 stations on six lines.
Some of the iconic metro stations were designed by renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid and Snøhetta.
