Koelnmesse, based in Cologne, is a globally operating trade fair organization. Annually, it hosts approximately 80 trade fairs, exhibitions, and special guest events. In addition, Koelnmesse’s congress centers and various venues are the sites for up to 2000 conferences and assorted events, held both concurrently with the trade fairs and throughout the year.
Back in 2003, GROVES developed a sound identity for koelnmesse together with the renowned design agency, Interbrand.
In 2019, as part of an extensive brand positioning process, the brand sound was redesigned, including recordings of new Voice-Overs.
The development of a visual koelnmesse logo animation was also part of the project.
As part of extensive mood board sessions, the new tonality of the sound logo was coordinated and a redesign version produced.
The master version was not only subject to special fire protection requirements, but was also adapted to the requirements of the hall architecture in several on-site meetings.
At the same time, the audio synchronized, visual animation of the brand logo was created.
The brand voice casting by GROVES was also recorded for announcements in the hall and for use during bus transfers.
